Novel Coronavirus: Be careful!
Novel Coronavirus Disease has become a worldwide pandemic. But, how does it affect the human body? Let's find out the answer!
A virus infects your body by entering healthy cells. There, the invader makes copies of itself and multiplies throughout your body. The new coronavirus latches its spiky surface proteins to receptors on healthy cells, especially those in your lungs.
Although for most people COVID-19 causes only mild illness, it can make some people very ill. Even, the disease can be fatal. Older people and those with pre-existing medical conditions (such as high blood pressure, heart problems, or diabetes) appear to be more vulnerable.
As COVID is a communicable disease, it's spreading among hundreds of people by just one.
A vaccine can protect you from this disease but coronavirus is changing its character. So, you should always beware of it even after complete vaccination.
Corona had already changed its character two times till now.
1: Use soap & hand sanitizer
How soap kills a virus? And what about sanitizer? The name 'Corona' has been evolved from the word 'Crown' because corona's membrane seems like a crown. Soap actually breaks the membrane of the virus to kill it and by washing your hand, you can say goodbye to this. In the case of sanitizer, it attacks the membrane but does not break it. So, the membrane collapses and the virus dies. Soap protects you from almost every virus including corona. But, in the case of viruses like influenza, soap can't kill this. Because its membrane hasn't any gap by which the soap particles can enter. Here, you have to use a hand sanitizer. Okay, coming back to the COVID discussion.
You have probably noticed the symbol before "a" in the heading. It's because you can either use a mask or more than one mask. More than one mask gives you more than one protection. But, don't try to wear so many masks. So, you'll get asphyxia instead of SARS-CoV 2.
3: Maintain social distancing:
According to WHO, you should maintain at least a 1-meter distance from any people.
Remember,
When in public, wear a mask,
Just a tiny-weeny task,
It helps keep us safe and sound,
Health and Care, all around.
On your mouth & on your nose,
Good to cover both of those.
Coronaviruses are not alone. MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) are also included in this family.
